A complete, encrypted audit log
Every action in a dataroom is recorded: you keep a precise trace of who did what. Useful day to day for following a team, and equally for proving compliance during an audit or an inspection. The log is itself end-to-end encrypted; only your authorised users can read it, and we cannot.
Detailed activity log
Files added and removed, folders created, renames, new versions: each event is timestamped and attributed to its author.
Download tracking
Know which document was downloaded, by whom and when. Useful for proving that a document was made available.
History of access and roles
Users added and removed, along with role changes, are recorded. You follow how permissions evolve over time.

Day to day it is your teams' collaborative storage; for sensitive matters it is also the standard tool for M&A, due diligence, audits or fundraising, where sending by email quickly shows its limits.
You give each participant a role on the dataroom (owner, administrator, editor, contributor or viewer) which determines what they can see and do. A contributor, for instance, adds their own files without touching anyone else's. You can change or withdraw a role whenever you want.
Yes, a lawyer, an auditor or an investor for example. The number of external users per dataroom depends on your plan.
Yes. Each dataroom keeps an audit log: downloads, files added and removed, new versions, role changes. Each event is timestamped and attributed to its author. The log exports as CSV, and its contents are encrypted just as the documents are.
You set that yourself, at organisation level, between 2 and 365 days. Long enough to cover your audit needs, without keeping a record forever of who opened which document.
Ownership is handed to another administrator of the organisation, storage accounting included. The space carries on without having to recreate it or re-invite its members.
